xfCan a Grandma be Cool?
I have been enjoying all the comments about "The 5 things that make you cool", and since I do not have my own blog thought I might respond to yours.
The #5 thing that might make me cool is my athletic ability in my youth (who would have guessed?). In school I always made the girls teams, i.e. softball, volleyball, etc. Then my bowling team in Colorado Springs came in 1st in numerous years, also came in 2nd in a citywide tournament. AND I shared the badminton championship with Sister Bosch for the women in Co. Spgs, 5th Ward!
#4 could be I can make a decent chocolate chip cookie, and even won first prize on the radio in Grand Junction!
#3 has to be my wonderful family. I am so proud of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. I am also pleased that they have been instilled with a great patriotism for their country, and take an interest in the political system and especially their party affiliation! GET OUT AND VOTE!
#4 has to be my soul-mate. Can I help it if The love of my life came into my life when I was still
15 years old? We have had a wonderful life together for 57 years. (Darn, I just told my age!)
#5 has to be the Gospel. I have always felt that Heavenly Father guided us in the right direction, probably more for our children, and theirs, than for us. From the time that a friend asked me, What do you know about the Mormons? I said nothing. She said do you want to know more? And I said sure. We took the lessons, was baptized on schedule and I believe this is the reason for our great happiness and our wonderful family.
Thanks for letting me drone on. I love you and Lianna so much and hope to see you soon.
