Having a 5 day weekend was quite therapeutic, especially since I did not have anything to do. No long hours in the lab, no big, imminent tests to study for, no grade-determining assignments to do. As for Lianna, she has a few things to do, but got them all done and enjoyed a wonderful break. It was great.

Our weekend started off with a long day at the beach. It was much needed. The waves were huge, the sun was shinning, a gentle ocean breeze was keeping us cool. It was perfect. I mostly frolicked in the waves. Lianna and our good friend Megan enjoyed they waves too, but also stayed out relaxing under the sun.

Here is a video of me frolicking. If you notice, the wave was about twice as high as I was, and was still significantly over my head when I jumped. If you look closely, you can see, as my hand goes down, my leg pops out of the top of the wave, a testament that I was flipped, smashed, and whirled around by the wave. It was great!

After our relaxing afternoon on the beach, Lianna and I had Thanksgiving dinner with our friends. Each one brought something and it turned out that we had quite a bit of food. It was fun to spend time with our close friends on Thanksgiving. Lianna cooked a turkey while I made Nestle Rod pie. Oh so good.
To all our friends and family, we love you. We pray oft for you all and hope that you are all doing well. Take care and may God bless you all. Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome back. This weekend our ward had our Thanksgiving dinner. It was quite fun to eat with friends. There was a ton of food and the best ham that I've ever eaten. Lianna volunteered her amazing skills to cook one of the seven, yes seven, turkeys that the ward bought. I also signed up to make a pie. What did I make? I made the Quillen family tradition of course. (Ok, so I don't really know how to spell it.) Nestle Rod? Anyway, you get the idea, and it was delicious. It was gone in two minutes. Ok, ok, I'm not going to withhold information. There were 100+ people there and so one pie split between 100 people goes quickly. But that doesn't change the fact that it was oh, so good.

Ever since I have created this blog, I realized just how boring Lianna and I are. Ok, maybe just me; Lianna isn't too boring. But we don't have any news to blog. I'm not having twins, let alone pregnant, (which would be a scary thing if I were pregnant). I'm not in law school, or anything like that. Oh well. Such is life. I guess I will just live with what we are.

Alas I have before me one of the great ethical dilemmas that plagues so many hard-working college students... Watch NBS's Heroes, blog, or study Biochemistry. (Namely enzyme kinetics, the Bohr effect on Hemoglobin, chylomicrons, and the six types of enzyme catalysis to name a few.) So naturally I prioritized: Heros, blogging, ... wasting time... waiting... and then biochemistry...eventually. Voici le produit de mon temps gâché.

Since Lianna and I are so busy, we sometimes go on vacations by ourselves. Hence the photos below. First, Lianna went across the United States to Washington D.C., and I, well, I just went across the island to the USS Missouri in Honolulu. Lianna went to the opposite side of the US on a school trip with the campus newspaper, the Ke Alaka'i, for a college newspaper convention. I went with the Honors Program, of which I am apart, as a service project.
So as for me, I was not able to see the amazing landmarks of history located in the heart of this blessed Nation that our Country cherishes so much. I was, however, able to participate in the preservation of a monument here in Hawaii. We did various tasks of service at the USS Missouri, a Destroyer that was decommissioned. It was quite fun.

On a side note, I finally found the gun that I'll use when I go hunting... provided my wife lets me. =) I hope you all enjoyed this post.

This is an introduction to us, Lianna and I. My name is Joseph, though people often call me Joe, JD, J, Cousin, Waffle (don't ask me why), or many other names to which I respond. Lianna is so used to people butchering her name that if you talk in her general direction, she'll respond. (It gets slightly awkward when the person is actually talking to someone else.) Lianna and I were married on April 27th, 2007, and we've lived happily until present.

Lianna and I share this blog, so the real test for those who love us will be to decipher who is the one blogging. We hope you all will be amused by our simple lives.
Friends and family, welcome to our blog. As the world progresses toward a more technological state, I suppose we would have been left behind had we not decided join the seemingly endless and ever-growing ranks of bloggers. A warning in advance: judging from my actual journal that I have sitting next to my bed, most posts might resemble this:

"Its been a while since I've wrote. So let me catch you up. I went to college, it was fun. Then I got married to the most amazing, perfect (for me) woman, graduated, and went to med school. Wow was it hard. Then I became a doctor, had sixteen (16) kids, retired, moved to Fiji, and am now drinking a nice cold glass of water on the beach."

So, forgive us now, if we don't keep up with our blog.
