More Fun Posts

So the fun in our lives continues! As you may know, we had LOTS of family over during the last couple of weeks, and so it was really fun to be able to spend time with them, especially our niece and nephews. (ESPECIALLY Liam, whom we've never met). So we went to Garden of the Gods, which was a lot of fun. It was especially fun to see how happy Logan and Ali were. They certainly loved climbing.

Heres a pic at the beginning of the trip when the kids weren't too happy to be there. That's just because they had no idea what was waiting for them!

Heres a pic of me and Ali walking:

Just look at that cute boy!

And his cute sister too!

One of the few times she could be distracted from climbing and playing in the dirt long enough to look at the camera:

What a cute family photo. Too bad only 50% of the subjects are looking. But Katie looks great!
And here is adorable Liam. You can see it in his eyes... saying "One of these days Im gonna bust outta here and go climb those rocks by my self too!

And here we are back at home, on one of the days. It was so nice to be together.

Overall, we had lots of fun with our families, and grateful that we can be together forever.

Flurry of Posts, Part 4: Let the 4th of July Weekend Begin!

So Lianna and I were planning on going to hike a 14er (mountain with a summit of over 14000 feet) at the beginning of the July 4th weekend. Unfortunately Lianna got called into work and was not able to go. However, since it was already planned with many of my classmates, I decided to go without Lianna in order to have a good time, see what it was like so I could tell if others could go, and to learn where to go when Lianna could come another time.

It as a beautiful Colorado summer day: Sunshine, slight, ocassional breeze to keep you cool, clean air, and blue sky. We hiked up to Grays Peak, rated 1 out of 5 for difficulty. Its one of the easiest 14ers to do. So I thought that I'd have no problem doing it. Dad said its one of the 14ers that they take 12-year-old scouts on all the time. So I thought Im a pretty health guy right? Boy was I wrong!

Heres a view from the top:This is a picture from the top looking down at the entire trail that we did. Most of it was pretty easy, but once you hit the switch backs on the rocks, that's when it got hard.

So here is a pretty picture along the way... What a beautiful place and day!

Flurry of Posts, Part 3: Date Night (day) Round 2

So because Denver is so awesome, we have a little bit of everything. Part of everything includes various cultures from around the world. Because of this, Lianna and I had the opportunity to go to the annual Cherry Blossom festival downtown. This is a relatively small festival celebrating Japanese art, food, dance, and well, culture! We met up with some of Lianna's family/childhood friends and we had a great time. We even took Teo, who did remarkably well around so many people, dogs, kids, and food.

Heres a little video of one of the dances by a young Japanese dance class

On a side note, we found out that Teo is an absolute chick magnet. Anytime Lianna would go into a store, Buddhist temple, or tent, I'd stay outside. Invariably, within seconds Teo and I would be surrounded by various assortments of women of all ages, commenting on how cute Teo was. They'd pet him, hug him, play with him etc... When Lianna was with me and Teo, no one ever stopped to pet him. We'd occasionally get a "OH! You're dog is so cute!" But no one would ever stop. But once Lianna was more than 10 feet away, it was like open season! I mean, common, wouldn't you want this body?
Overall, we had a great time, and really enjoyed each other company and environment.

A Flurry of Posts, Part 2: Date Night, Round 1

Even though Lianna and I have been quite busy, we've still managed to spend some good, quality time together. One of which times was when we went to the Rockies game. Neither of us are hard core Rockies fans like the majority of my family, but we still enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. We even partook more fully in the experience by buying the ridiculously expensive food that the game, but boy was it good (and unhealthy)!

We also had GREAT seats, which significantly added to the fun of the experience. We were sitting 15 rows behind the 3rd base dug out, which made it seem like we were really in the game. Here are a few pics that we got, using a simple point-and-shoot camera:

So, with that said, we had a great time! Thanks Love, for the great memory.

A flurry of Blog Posts: Teo's First Bath

So recently Lianna and I have been doing blog-worth things a lot, but neither of us have had the time to blog about them. As a result, our list of things about which we need to blog has been growing at an alarming rate. So, now that things have calmed down for me a bit, I'm going to start. Be ready for lots of posts in rapid succession!

Teo's First Bath:
Now, we've had Teo for nearly two months, but please don't think we haven't bathed him until now. This picture was quite some time ago! Over all, he handled it quite nicely. There was the occasional shake-drying that dogs do which thoroughly soaked everything around him. Luckily I was able to contain most of it with the shower curtain. Isn't he cute?

Vet Knows Best!

So we were a little worried that Teo seemed to be losing weight, and not gaining any back (Naturally being lost, then being confined to the Denver Dumb Friends League, which is a humane pound for 3 weeks would make one lose weight) But Teo seemed to not be able to gain it back, no matter how much we fed him. So I've been stopping by the Vet clinic every week or so to weight him on their scale in the front of the office. This time, the vet came out to see how he was doing. When I asked him what he thought Teo was, he said, "Well, the first thing people are going to think is that hes part German Shepherd. But I don't think so... he's got a short face." So, the vet said he thought he was part Shiba, part Australian Kelpie. Upon googling both breeds, I think he was right, and that we've finally come to a verdict: Shiba-Keplie. Here are pics of an Australian Kelpie:
note the ears... and another Kelpie: Then a Shiba Inu: Note the Tail... Both combined gives us... TEO!

Two peas in a pod

My sister, Debbie aka the Yoat (inside joke that has lasted years), came to stay with us for a week in transit from London back to California.

All I have to say is Hooray for Sisters! I could compose poetry about that special relationship...

As friends we're two peas in a pod
our humor's decidedly odd
but closeness is best
we sisters attest
so visits we'll ever applaud

I thought a limerick would be appropriate, due to her recent visit to Ireland. It's also about the extent of my poetic genius.

It was fun, we hung out, we laughed, we played with our dog, we scrapbooked her trip to Europe - which is definitely a primarily female indeavor - and ate good food, including gourmet cheese she brought back from good old England. Good Times!
(sorry, no pix... just imagine two dark haired half Chinese girls giggling about Shakespeare..)
