Ok so that list was about all of what I had come up with for my shower registry. I have to side with my good Auntie - if Cheapside was in America instead of England, it's pretty well where I'd build a house. (Speaking of foreign countries, I need your blog address again, por favor Hermana de Espana =D Or a virtual arrow pointing me in the direction I can find it.) Thus, finding myself in agreement with all of your posts, and also extremely grateful for the offers of borrowing, I am now a little bit unsure (well, really, about as unsure as before) of what to put ON my registry, although I am now more sure of what NOT to put on.
So, I am taking a poll now. Your top 5 ideas for what you have LOVED when other people registered for them. Because, really, I mostly wanted to celebrate having a baby with all my wonderful friends and church-family up here, and hadn't thought very much about registering, and I realize that only having 5 things on a registry is kind of boring for anyone interested in even looking at it.

I am always making mistakes with addresses so if this doesn't work just open G's blog and follow the link.

I remember G loving some extra large recieving blankets. Ask her the name. They sell cute little medical supply kits, you might like a light weight stroller, hooded towel etc, but if you don't register for much, people can just buy cute clothes which is really the most fun with little girls. Don't stress. We sure do love you!
I agree with Aunt Jeanene, people love to buy clothes for little girls so even if you don't register you'll be fine. Otherwise, I'd pick some nice-to-haves that you might not buy on your own (books, toys, shoes) and then some things you know you'll want to buy if you don't get them (onesises, diapers, crib sheets, baby shampoo/soap). If you have your heart set on anything a bit bigger, let me know and I'll see if some of the fam wants to go in on a group gift.
Put a water proof crib mattress pad on your list and a good humidifier. Katie loved the playset thing where you lay the baby down on a blanket and the set went over the baby so they could watch the lights and listen to music...what was that called? You might also want a Baby Bullet so you can make your own baby food in a few months. Also, I loved the baby gowns as opposed to sleepers when mine were tiny and you had to change diapers so often.
Oh tip that I liked! Put a sheet, matters liner, then another shhet on the crib mattress. Then if there is a poop or puke explosion you can strip off the top layers and put the kid right back down without changing sheets at 1am.
Aiden and Anais blankets were my favorite but they are pricey. But I think part of me liked them because they were pricey. It is stupid.
I'd register for them, a Velcro swaddler, the baby trend stroller and car seat combo (we field tested several and that has been fantastic for me and several friends and family. Plus the price is good comparably. Of course craiglist has a trove of strollers if you don't want to "invest"), humidifier, and a monitor.
I'd take a mom friend with you to register and just give them the gun. Alicia did it for me and I've done it with friends. It's too overwhelming for first time parents. Alicia walked into the store to do it, freaked out and walked right back out again. On two separate occasions :-)
i don't deal with registries. not for weddings, not for babies. maybe it's my ADD that doesn't allow for me to mess with that, but.. i think registries at least give others ideas of what to get you. but.. if i'm sure you have crafty friends who will just go all out for your lil babe!
