4th of July

Independence Day found me barely recovering from a cold with girls who nap a combined 5+ hours of the day (usually they take turns) and the lot of us usually head to bed before dark. (It's such a raucous party over here).  We still had to celebrate somehow..

So Korrali got new clothes, fun hair

and we drove up to play at Grammy and Grandpa Q's for an hour or so (after our 5 hour of naps). We lit off fireworks (just the little, legal kind), discovered K is terrified of sparklers but loves poppers, and that Claire is still a chill little girl. She was completely nonplussed by the fireworks.

Here is a video, wherein I display my utter lack of explosives knowledge .
But we had a great time! We managed to stay awake an hour after bed time, attract almost every child under the age of 11 on the cul de sac to our fireworks show (ok to the poppers), and spend some really nice time with Grandpa! Happy 4th - A day to be so so grateful that we have the freedom to choose so many many things.

Ah, fireworks on the cul de sac used to be such fun tradition! Glad you carried it on this year!
